If
your iPhrase does not properly install automatically, you can use
the following instructions to install the content manually:
The following screen shots
are for Windows, but similar screens will appear for Mac.
1.
Make
sure your iPod is connected and iTunes is open. Wait
until your iPod appears in iTunes under Devices, and make sure
"Enable disk use" is checked. See image.
2.
Go to "My Computer", or "Computer" in Vista, or
look for your iPod icon on your Mac desktop and find the iPod as
removable storage. Open it and find the "Notes" folder. Also
find the Berlitz CD or DVD drive. See image below.
3.
Now, drag the "Berlitz iPhrase Spanish (or German, Italian,
etc.)" folder from your Berlitz CD or DVD drive into
your iPod "Notes" folder.
4.
For images, open the folder Images_iPhrase_ES (or DE for German,
etc.) on your Berlitz CD or DVD and highlight and drag all the .jpg
images into your iPod's Notes folder.
FOR
AUDIO FILES
5.
In iTunes, click on File/Add Folder to
Library (see image)
6.
You'll see a "Browse for Folder" menu as follows:
7.
Select the Audio_iPhrase_ES folder for Spanish. For German the last
two letters are DE, for Italian they are IT and for French, they are
FR. Then click OK.
About
300 audio files will be copied to your iTunes Music Library. 8.
Now, sync your iPod Note:
If you have "Manually mange songs and
videos"
selected in your iTunes, you will have to drag the song
files from iTunes Library to your iPod. 9.
Eject your iPod. 10.
On your iPod, click on Extras, then Notes and click on "Berlitz
iPhrase" folder. 11.
For 3rd or 4th generation Nanos and iPod
Classics, you may have to reset your iPod for the content to appear.
Don't worry, it will not delete anything. Proceed as follows: Press
and hold both the MENU button and center button until the Apple logo
appears. Then release. Wait until the main menu screen appears. Now
click on "Extras", then "Notes" and wait for
Notes to fully load.
